Today fourth grade started learning about adjectives, so we combined them with encouragement to surround students with positive adjectives about themselves.

Poems
About two weeks ago, we started doing something new. We started memorizing poems. 4th grade began “The Children’s Hour” by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, and 3rd grade began “February Twilight” by Sara Teasdale. We recite them each day during spelling class, and I have been SO impressed with how quickly the students have picked them up.
Here is 3rd grade’s poem. 4th grade’s will be up in the next day or so.

Fun in the Snow
One of the blessings of having a school on the side of a hill is sledding during lunch recess. The students have been making good use of our hill!

Birds of Prey
The kids enjoyed seeing hawks, falcons, and owls from Shawvers Creek! They learned a lot and had fun in the process.
